I have been wanting to buy a moka pot for a while now. It's one of the best ways to make something similar to espresso at home without having to pick up a bg espresso machine. It's also got no moving parts too so it's super simple to use.

In any event I was really excited to when I found an awesome deal on the Bialetti 6799 Moka Express Espresso Maker at my local Fred Meyer today. In their coffee section I found this little guy on sale for 50% off! This is one of the best selling moka pots made these days and it's not a cheap knockoff. Needless to say I jumped at the chance to get it for such a big discount.

At the regular price of $26.99 in-store I was able to pick this thing up for $13.49 after the half-off discount at the register. I didn't even pay tax as I live in Oregon! Sweet.

As I noted in my recent post on finding a good way to make espresso at homo on the cheap I had learned that this Moka pot is about as good as it gets. I've also read that the smaller pot (the one I bought) was also the best.

Note - In case you don't know this is an aluminum moka pots which is different than stainless steel. You can see a few comparable moka pots in stainless steel here to compare.

Anyway, this is just quick post for now but I will be doing a full review of this espresso maker in the very near future. Look for it here on the blog and a complimentary video to be posted up on my YouTube channel.

I imagine you will struggle to buy this coffee maker as low as I did but after having my first cup from this pot this afternoon I can't imagine not buying it even at full price. It's pretty amazing and dead simple to use.

P.S. See this page for a list of similar stovetop espresso makers at various price points.
